If You Notice Behavioral Issues With Your Child Seek Help From A Pediatrician

My son is 10 years old, and about six months ago began having some behavioral issues at school. Leighton has always been a good boy so when the principal phoned me to tell me he had been pulled out of class for taunting another student I was

completely taken by surprise. My husband Joe and I have never had a problem with Leighton. He has always been so kind, friendly, and happy. Admittedly, we had noticed a slight change at home. He seemed to get grumpy at the slightest things and didn’t have the appetite that he used to. At first, I just put it down to growing pangs, but after the school incident, I knew that we needed to get help. Leighton is the most important person in my life and I want to make sure that he grows up healthy and happy.

Principal Jones told me about Powell Pediatrics. She said that Dr. Morris was a pediatrician who specialized in behavioral issues. After I got home that afternoon, I made an appointment for the next day. I was so surprised that the Doctors professional and courteous staff was able to see us right away. After I told her roulette about the situation, she was as concerned as my husband and I were, so she wanted to make sure that we saw Dr. Morris as soon as possible.

When we arrived, Leighton settled in right away. The waiting area had plenty of activities to keep our little boy happy and content while we waited for his appointment. We didn’t have to wait long and when we were ushered into the examination room, I was a bit apprehensive. I really didn’t know what to expect.

When we met Dr. Morris, he assured me that many children have behavioral issues and it was something that could be managed. After he examined Leighton, he took a few samples and told us he would have the results in a few days.

Dr. Morris called us back that Friday and told us that Leighton was suffering from ADHD. The doctor told us that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is quite common and can continue through to adult hood. The symptoms include difficulty paying attention and staying focused. Behavioral and hyperactivity issues are another symptom. Dr. Morris told us that Leighton’s ADHD could be managed with medication.

That was three months ago, and thanks to Dr. Morris and his highly skilled staff from Powell Pediatrics, we have our well-adjusted 10-year-old back.
