Just because its summer doesn’t mean that your kids are immune when it comes to colds and flu. Unfortunately, those nasty bugs don’t pay any attention to the seasons, which means your sons and daughters can get sick just as easily during the warmer months, as they can during the fall and winter.
You may have had many things planned for your kids, but getting sick, probably wasn’t one of them.
According to Powell Pediatrics, the best thing that you can do if your kids get sick this summer is to treat the cold, flu or virus like you would any other time of the year. Make sure that you give them plenty of liquids and lots of rest. If your kids are feeling better after a cold or a bout of the flu, try to keep them out of the public pool until your pediatrician has given you the okay. All kinds of germs and bacteria can be floating around in a public pool.
