It’s a cold winter and that means the cold and flu season is in full swing. From coughs and sneezing to stomach problems and more, it’s no fun getting sick, but there are some things you can do to prevent colds and flu from invading your household.
Keeping Things Clean
Dr. Carl Timothy Morris from Powell Pediatrics explains that the number one defense against colds and flu is hand washing. Kids tend to touch their face and other people’s faces. Make sure hands are washed regularly and keep hand sanitizer handy.
Eating Healthy
What you put in your mouth and the mouths of your family makes a difference. Get the junk food out of the house and stock it full of fresh fruits and veggies. Keep lots of fresh juices on hand and don’t forget to keep a batch of homemade chicken soup on hand. Your grandmother was right when she said, “Chicken soup is for the soul.”
